Preparing for Life after Graduation at Professional Development Kickoff
September 22, 2016 | WSU Athletics, Cougar Athletic Fund, Student-Athlete Development
While the Cougar volleyball team's upset of No. 4 Washington was playing in the background, Washington State senior student-athletes were preparing for life after graduation at the annual Professional Development Kickoff event Wednesday night inside the Cougar Football Complex.
The event, organized by the Student-Athlete Development department, is designed to assist student-athletes with the preparation for graduation and life after WSU.
Presentations were given discussing resume development, job-interviewing skills, and graduate school information. Furthermore, student-athletes began the process of creating their professional portfolio, including resume development and a professional photo to include in the publication. The portfolio is produced to link student-athletes with potential employers and assist with the transition from a collegiate student-athlete to a working professional.
As the student-athletes were getting ready to have their photo taken, they were able to enjoy watching their fellow student-athletes on the Pac-12 Network broadcast of the volleyball match in Seattle.
Thank you Cougar Athletic Fund members! Your investment in the Cougar Athletic Fund enables young men and women to come to WSU, earn a degree while competing in the Pac-12 Conference, and build successful student-athletes both inside and outside the athletic arena.
The Cougar Athletic Fund, the fundraising arm of the Washington State University Athletic Department, is committed to covering the annual cost of student-athlete scholarships through private, philanthropic support. The support of Cougar Athletic Fund members enable young men and women to come to Pullman and earn a degree while competing in the Pac-12 Conference.
