The Washington State Cougar women's soccer team 95-2-1) begins Pac-12 Conference play Friday when it hosts Colorado (6-3-0) at 5 p.m. at Lower Soccer Field. The match will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.

Todd Shulenberger is in his second year at Washington State…In 2015 Shulenberger became the seventh head coach in program history after spending the previous two seasons as the associate head coach at Texas Tech…last season the Cougars reached the NCAA Championship for the fifth-straight season and finished with a 14-6 record.

Washington State posted a 2-1 victory over Boise State Sunday to close out nonconference play...
Kailiana Johnson and
Alysha Overland each scored goals, both coming in the second half...Overland's goal came in the 70th minute and proved to be the game-winner, her fourth goal of the season and third game-winner...WSU ended nonconference play going 4-0-1 in its final five games.
COUGAR SOCCER ATTENDANCE AMONGST BEST NATIONALLY
Washington State leads the Pac-12 Conference in attendance through the first four weeks of the season, averaging 1,383 fans at Lower Soccer Field through six home games...WSU is eighth nationally among Power 5 schools this season.
WSU SETS ATTENDANCE RECORD AGAINST BYU
During the Cougars' season-opener against No. 16 BYU, WSU drew a Lower Soccer Field record 2,623 fans for the match, eclipsing the previous mark of 2,251 set last season against Arizona (which was already nearly 600 fans more than 3rd on the all-time list)...in four home matches this season, WSU is averaging 1,690 fans per contest.
WASHINGTON STATE-CU: THE SERIES
Washington State is 5-1-0 all-time against Colorado...when playing in Pullman, the Cougars own a 2-0-0 advantage, winning a 3-0 meeting the last time playing at Lower Soccer Field (10/11/13)...in last year's meeting, The No. 21 Cougars scored two goals in the first half and added a third in the second period to beat the Buffs 3-0 and earn their third-straight win. redshirt-freshman goalkeeper
Ella Dederick recorded a career-high 11 saves in the match, preserving the shutout for the WSU defense.

After this weekend's contests, the Cougars head south to face a pair of nationally-ranked opponents...Thursday (Sept. 29) the Cougars are at No. 1 Stanford followed by a Sunday (Oct. 2) match at No. 20 California...both games will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.
