Addisynn Bursch Breaks Second WSU Record

Washington State swimming completed the third day of the Pac-12 Championships where junior Addisynn Bursch broke her second WSU record of the meet. The Cougars overall have broken five school records.

Bursch clocked the record setting time in the 400 IM with a 12th place finish. The junior finished at 4:15.51, changing the record books and earning the Cougars 15 points.

Freshman Jasmine Margetts also swam in the 400 IM where she finished 15th and tallied 12 more points for the Cougars. Margetts touched the wall at 4:16.70, after clocking a personal record in the preliminaries at 4:16.49, the third fastest time in school history.  Both Bursch and Margetts had NCAA 'B' Standard times.

Sophomore Anna Brolin made her mark in school history by earning the third-fastest time in the 100 butterfly at 53.65. This 12th place finish picked up 15 points for WSU and an NCAA 'B' Standard time. Junior Elise Locke added five more points in the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.91.

In the 100 breaststroke, senior Frederikke Hall clocked the second-best time in WSU history at 1:01.94, with a 12th place finish and an NCAA 'B' Standard time. Teammate Presley Wetterstrom finished after Hall at 1:02.68, in 15th place. Freshman Linnea Lindberg earned four points for the Cougars in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.34.

In the 100 backstroke, senior Loree Olson finished with a time of 54.82, a tenth of a second off of her personal record and the second-best time in school history.

Sophomore Hannah Bruggman clocked her best time in the 100 back, at 54.96, placing her fifth on the WSU Top-Ten List.  Junior Haley Rose Love picked up a final point for WSU in individual events in the 100 back, touching the wall at 56.04, the ninth-fastest time in school history.

The Cougars closed the day with an eighth place finish in the 400 medley relay. WSU's team of Olson, Hall, Brolin and Bruggman clocked a season best time of 3:40.47.

Washington State remains in the eighth place ahead of Oregon State University. USC currently leads the competition, in front of Stanford and California.

The Pac-12 Championships wrap up tomorrow with the 1650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, and 400 freestyle relay.
