Washington State swim team broke two school relay records on the first day of the Pac-12 Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
The Cougars swam the fastest in school history in the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay, the two events they participated in.
"The Cougs swam well today," WSU Head Coach Tom Jager said. "It was a good start to the Pac-12 Championships and we look forward to racing and carrying this momentum into the rest of the week."
In the 800 freestyle relay, the team of junior Addisynn Bursch, junior Elise Locke, sophomore Rachel Thompson, and freshman Jasmine Margetts clocked the record setting time of 7:18.03, surpassing the previous record by over two seconds. This time placed the Cougars eighth in the event, tallying 44 points for the team.
