THIS WEEK
The Washington State University swim team travels to Columbus, Ohio to compete in the Ohio State Invitational at the McCorkle Aquatics Pavilion...the invite will begin on Friday, Nov. 18 and end on Sunday, Nov. 20...the events will be all day.

In addition to Washington State and host Ohio State, the invite is comprised of teams from Stanford, Utah, Iowa, Kentucky, Kenyon, Pittsburgh, Penn State and Yale.
Cougar Swimming Inks Seven to National Letters of Intent
Seven incoming student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent to the Washington State swimming team, head coach Tom Jager announced last week…the 2017 signing class is comprised of Taylor McCoy (Pullman, Wash.), Maia Petrides (Honolulu, Hawaii), Chloe Larson (Rapid City, SD), Alba Fores (Lund, Sweden), Sam Howell (Austin, Texas), Kelly Morgan (Edmonds, Wash.) and Emily Cook (Portland, Ore.)..."We are very excited about this recruiting class," Jager said. "They are athletic, fast, smart and each and every one of them is a great person. This class will help us further climb in the Pac-12. I can't wait to coach them and be a part of their success."

MAKING HISTORY
Washington State's 143-119 defeat over No. 23 UCLA marked the first win over the Bruins in school history…Saturday was the 11th dual meet against UCLA in program history…the Cougars claimed 10 of the 14 events against the Bruins.

HOT START FOR FRESHMEN
Freshman Ryan Falk continued her impressive freshman campaign by contributing 18 points to the Cougars' total against Northern Arizona…the Portland, Ore., native took first place in the 1000 free with a time of 10:20.76, and later added a first place finish in the 500 free touching the wall in 5:00.02...the wins marked Falk's third and fourth victories of the season…her previous two victories came in the 200 free and 500 free against UCLA…fellow freshman Angela Mavrantza notched her fourth win of the season with an impressive performance in the 200 breast, touching the wall in 2:19.81 against the Lumberjacks…the Athens, Greece, native's pervious three victories came in the 100 Breast against USC, California and UCLA.

LAST TIME IN THE POOL
The Cougars hosted Northern Arizona at Gibb Pool, defeating the Lumberjacks, 129-70…WSU started the meet with a splash, taking the top spot in the 400 medley relay. The team of Jasmine Margetts, Angela Mavrantza, Anna Brolin and Hannah Bruggman clocked a 3:48.94….Bruggman notched a win in the 100 free with a 51.66, just ahead of teammate Haley Rose Love who finished second, touching in 52.18. Love recorded her first win of the season with an impressive performance in the 50 free, clocking a time of 23.95…senior Addisynn Bursch added a victory in the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.84, out-touching Margetts (2:07.03) and Taylor Shewchuk (2:16.27) for the top spot…in the 200 back, Margetts took first place with a 2:01.29, followed by senior Jessica Marston in second place touching in 2:07.07…Washington State also garnered first place finishes in the 200 free and 200 fly…junior Rachel Thompson finished the 200 free in 1:52.85, out-touching Northern Arizona's Kimmy Richter by .10 seconds…senior Elise Locke secured the top spot in the 200 fly with a time of 2:02.01.

HEAD COACH TOM JAGER TO THE PAC-12 MEN'S ALL-CENTURY TEAM
Washington State University Swimming Head Coach Tom Jager was named to the Pac-12 Men's Swimming Olympic Sports All-Century Team...Jager was inducted for his excellence in freestyle sprints in Pac-12 Swimming at UCLA in 1984-87...he earned five individual NCAA championships and one relay championship...individually, Jager won two NCAA titles in the 100-yard freestyle in the 1983 and 1984, two in the 50-yard freestyle in 1984 and 1985 and one in the 100-yard backstroke in 1985...in 1984, he was named the Pac-10 Swimmer of the Year and later earned two Olympic Gold Medals as a member of relay teams...a panel of 20 coaches, swimmers, administrators and members of the media selected the team consisting of 26 swimmers and six divers, plus a Coach, and Swimmer & Diver of the Century...after college, Jager added two more Olympic Gold medals from relays and a silver medal in the 50-meter freestyle in the 1988 Olympic Games...he closed out his Olympic career in 1992 with a gold medal in the 4x100 freestyle relay and a bronze medal in the 50-meter freestyle.
LAST SEASON
The Cougars finished last year seventh in a tightly contested Pac-12...WSU notched eight dual meet victories last season, including wins over Arizona State, Oregon State, Nebraska and Utah...the Cougars won six-straight dual meets to close out the season for the second-consecutive year...Washington State earned 65 individual wins during the course of the season...WSU broke four school records last season, across four events and recorded 33 WSU top-10 performances.
