TACOMA, Wash. – Led by top-10 finishes from sophomore
Madison Odiorne and junior
Alivia Brown, the Washington State women's golf team finished fourth at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, Tuesday, at Tacoma Country and Golf Club.
WSU finished the tournament with a three-round score of 891 (+27), 11 strokes behind defending NCAA champion and tournament winner Washington (+16, 880). No. 25 BYU finished second with a score of 883 (+19), while Pac-12 competitor Oregon State rounded out the top three at 887 (+23).
"This week we played solid golf," WSU Head Coach
Kelli Kamimura said. "From top to bottom, the girls really grinded it out, and I was really proud of the fight they showed."
Leading the Cougars was sophomore
Madison Odiorne, who tied for sixth place (+3, 219). Odiorne finished six strokes behind tournament champion Julianne Alvarez of Washington. Junior
Alivia Brown finished ninth with an overall score of 220 (+4).
Senior
Cherokee Kim and freshman
Marie Lund-Hansen both tied for 21st with a final score of 226 (+10). Kim shot one-over par with two birdies in the final round.
"It's always great to have a tournament with four players in the top-25 and two in the top-10," Kamimura said. "The girls worked hard and it's fun to see them get success."
Junior
Bree Wanderscheid tied for 55th (+19, 235) after shooting 6-over in the third round.
Competing as individuals, junior
Jamie Midkiff tied for 74th (+26, 242) and freshman
Elodie Bridenne finished 86th (+34, 250).Â
Next up, the Cougars travel to Hawaii for their final fall tournament, the Pac-12 Preview, Oct. 24-25.
