THIS WEEK: The Washington State men's golf team will compete at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate hosted by New Mexico, at Albuquerque, N.M., Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24, at The Championship Golf Course…following the final round Saturday, the Cougars head to Erie, Colorado to compete in the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational hosted by Colorado at the Colorado National Golf Club, Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 26-27.
WILLIAM H. TUCKER INTERCOLLEGIATE: The Championship Golf Course at the University of New Mexico is a 7,580 yard track at a par-72…the course has hosted the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate for the past 43 years, which is the second longest running college tournament…the first and second rounds will take place Friday, Sept. 23, with a shotgun start at 6:30 a.m. PT/7:30 a.m. MT…the final round will begin at 6:30 a.m. PT.
MARK SIMPSON COLORADO INVITATIONAL: The Colorado National Golf Club (CNGC) is located about 12 miles from Boulder, home to Colorado…the course layout is a 7,745-yard, par-72 configuration, and the greens feature bent grass…the first and second rounds (36 total holes) will take place Monday, Sept. 26 with a shotgun start at 7:15 PT/8:15 a.m. MT…the third and final round will take place Tuesday in a staggered shotgun format (top four teams will play in five tee times off No.1 beginning at 6:55 a.m. PT/7:55 a.m. MT, while the rest have a shotgun start at 7:15 a.m. PT/8:15 a.m. PT).

TUCKER: Joining host-school New Mexico in the 16-team tournament will be Arizona, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State, Pepperdine, San Diego, San Diego State, Texas Tech, UTEP, UNLV, Washington, and Wyoming…San Diego State (23rd), Washington (24th), and UNLV (25th) all finished the 2016 season ranked in the top 25.

Tucker Intercollegiate.

LAST TIME ON THE GREEN: The Cougars placed first in the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate at Palouse Ridge Golf Club, Sept. 12-13, shooting 10-under par with a three-round score of 842…Nick Mandell took home the individual title, which was a career-best finish (-3, 210)…Derek Bayley tied for second shooting 2-under par (211)…Nicklaus Chiam tied for fifth with a three-round score of 212 (-1)…Zach Anderson, AJ Armstrong, and Brian Mogg tied for eighth shooting even-par (213)…Grant Cole tied for 16th ( 2, 215) and Aaron Whalen tied for 23rd ( 4, 217)…all eight Cougars competing placed in the top 25.
