Brown Ties for Fourth at Pac-12 Preview

KAILUA KONA, Hawaii – Sophomore Alivia Brown had a career-best finish, placing fourth as Washington State women's golf finished seventh at the Pac-12 Preview at Nanea Golf Club, Tuesday.

In the final tournament of the fall, WSU (+27, 903) finished behind six ranked Pac-12 opponents, with No. 3 UCLA winning the tournament with a three-round score of 877 (+1). No. 15 Arizona State finished second (+8, 884), while No. 9 Arizona rounded out the top three at (+12, 888). The Cougars finished 17 strokes ahead of No. 35 Oregon (+44, 920).

Brown tied for fourth after shooting even par in each of the three rounds. The Gig Harbor, Wash.-native carded a total of 14 birdies throughout the tournament. Brown finished seven strokes back of tournament champion-Charlotte Thomas of Washington (-7, 212).

Sophomore Bree Wanderscheid shot a third-round 75 (+2) to tie for 29th (+10, 229), one stroke ahead of senior teammate Monica Huang. Huang tied for 32nd (+11, 230).

Junior Cherokee Kim shot 6-over par (79) in the third round and tied for 36th (+13, 232). Senior Nani Yanagi shot the Cougars' lowest score of the day with a third-round 72 (-1). Yanagi tied for 39th (+14, 233).

Freshman Madison Odiorne finished 49th (+22, 241), while senior Rachel Lewis tied for 54th (+25, 244). Both competed as individuals.

The conclusion of the tournament marks the end of WSU's fall season. The Cougars will return for their spring season Feb. 21-22 , at Peoria, Ariz., for the Westbrook Spring Invitational.
