Cougar Swimming Adds NLI Signee Ryan Falk

PULLMAN, Wash. – Ryan Falk signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Washington State women's swimming team next season, head coach Tom Jager announced Wednesday.

Falk is out of Jesuit High School in Portland, Ore. As a junior, Falk was a first-team All-State selection after placing second in the 200 free and third in the 500 free at the state finals, setting the school record in the 200 free. Her senior season will start in December. Prior to swimming for coach Bryan Butcher at JHS, Falk attended Batavia High School in Bativia, Ill. as a freshman and sophomore.

“Ryan is going to be a great addition to this team,” Jager said. “She can swim a lot of events well, she loves to work hard and compete in the pool. She will be a great Coug!”

Falk also swam 10 years for the St. Charles Swim Team (Club) for coach Tim Lewarchick and two years for coach Franz Resseguie of the Tualatin Hills Swim Club. Among Oregon's 17-18 year-old division, Falk clocked state's No. 1 times in the 800 free, 1000 free and 1500 free while posting the second-fastest times in the 500 free and 400 free.

Falk's sister, Taylor is a sophomore on the University of Idaho swim team.
