Cougar Soccer Closes Nonconference Unbeaten

Box Score

MOSCOW, Idaho – Beau Bremer loves playing Idaho on the road.

The Washington State (5-0-2) redshirt-junior scored the only goal of the match as the Cougars remained undefeated with a 1-0 victory over the Vandals (0-7-0). Three of Bremer's eight-career goals have come in Moscow.

“Beau (Bremer) gives us maximum effort every minute she is out there,” Cougar Head Coach Steve Nugent said. “We missed some opportunities today, but I will take the result. We had a goal to be undefeated in nonconference. We did that and only gave up two goals in the process.”

The game-winner came in the 60th minute after a wild sequence. Bremer took a shot in the box that was blocked. Cara Wegner's shot on the rebound was also blocked. Idaho goalkeeper Torell Stewart punched the ball out, but Bremer was there to gather and then beat Stewart underneath the crossbar for her third goal of the season.

The Cougars dominated the stat sheet. Washington State outshot Idaho 24-3 and held a 15-1 advantage over the Vandals in corner kicks. Stewart was forced to make 10 saves while Cougar goalkeeper Gurveen Clair did not face a shot on goal.
