HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. Earned six letters at Olympic High School…three as a running back and safety for football coach Carlton Cooper…three for track coach Joel Grindeland…senior year won the 200m dash (record time of 21.79), anchored the winning 4x100m relay, and placed second in the 100m dash at the Washington state 4A championships…first individual state champ for Olympic High, which finished fourth as team…set school records in 100m (10.79), 200m (21.79) and 4x100m relay…prior to state, won Narrows League titles and West Central District titles in 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay…also won league 100m and 200m titles as junior but pulled hamstring prior to districts and did not advance to state meet…named school team's most inspirational and team captain…Seattle Times Athlete of the Week…West Sound's Male Scholar Athlete of the Year (2003)…during football career, named first team all-league...had 1.036 yards on 97 carries for 10.8 yards per carry average with 16 touchdowns…named to West Sounds all-area football team.
