WSU CAREER. JUNIOR (2003-04): Outdoor - Tossed season-best javelin mark of 53.90m/176-10 at Cougar Invite (4/24/04, Pullman).

SOPHOMORE (2002-03): Outdoor - Reached javelin PR of 55.36m/181-7 at the UW Dual meet (5/3/03, Seattle).

FRESHMAN (2001-02): Outdoor - Redshirt season for track...walked-on football team.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. Earned nine letters at Walla Walla High...four letters for track coach Harv Wellington, three football letters for coach Marc Yonts, and two in basketball for Jim Thacker...on the gridiron, played free safety as junior and was starting quarterback/free safety as senior...threw over 1,000 yards...team captain...named defensive team MVP...led the Big Nine League in interceptions...second-team all-league...named most inspirational in basketball senior season...threw the javelin 191-0 junior year...placed fifth at state 4A meet...Wa High track league champs...senior year was javelin champ for league, region and state...tossed 199-5...team captain...named to academic all-state team for track...selected outstanding male athlete at Wa High.

Born 6/4/82 at Walla Walla...father Mike is an attorney who played football at WSU as a cornerback in the 1970s...mother Judy is a teacher who also graduated from WSU...brother Ryan (5/30/85) and sister Kelsey (11/23/79)...uncle Ray Stein was on the Cougar basketball team in the late 1960s...majoring in management information systems.
