FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Washington State swimming completed a successful day three highlighted with five Cougar swimmers reaching the finals of three events.

In the preliminary heats, WSU competed in five events starting off with the 400 IM. Both Junior Kelly Tannhauser and Loree Olson qualified for the final heats with times of 4:20.13 and 4:22.05 respectively. Emma Johansson qualified for the 100 butterfly `B' final with a time of 53.99. Freshmen Frederikke Hall and Shanell Sullenberger reached the finals of the 100 breaststroke in personal best times of 1:03.81 and 1:04.87 respectively

The Cougars matched their accomplishments from the morning session later in the finals starting off with Olson winning the `C' final of the 400 IM with a personal best and NCAA `B' standard time of 4:16.27. Olson's time also set a new Washington State record. Tannhauser also achieved a personal best and NCAA `B' cut time of 4:19.13 in the same event. Johansson glided to a 15th place finished in the 100 butterfly and earned the third NCAA `B' standard time of the night for WSU. In the 100 breaststroke, Hall and Sullenberger put some points on the board for the Cougars finishing 20th and 24th overall, respectively.

WSU fielded two teams in the final event of the evening, the 400 medley relay. The WSU `A' relay of Johansson, Hall, Alison Mand, and Tannhauser finished eighth overall with a season best time of 3:44.41. The Cougars remain in ninth place at the end of day three.

"We had a great day and swam tough in the morning," said Cougar Head Coach Tom Jager, "And better at night which is what we want to do. Loree swam a great race in the 400 IM with a school record."

The fourth and final day of Pac-12 Championships continues Saturday with preliminary heats at 11 a.m. and final heats at 6 p.m.
