Johansson Shines for Cougars at Conference Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Junior Emma Johansson shined for Washington State on day two of Pac-12 Championships placing third in the `C' final of the 50 free with an NCAA `B' standard time of 22.97. WSU ended day two in ninth place.
The Cougars started out the day with the 500 free prelims and Sophomore Haley Anderson earning a season best time of 4:58.82. Kelly Tannhauser and Shelbi Luchini finished 25th and 26th respectively, less than a second away from qualifying for finals of the 200 IM. Tannhauser was able to achieve a personal best time of 2:02.97.In the 50 free prelims, four Cougars achieved personal best times including Anne Kenney (23.56), Jenna Bekker (23.75), Kelsey Bruggman (23.76), and Kiana Sullenberger (24.68).
"I was real pleased with the way we swam this morning," said Cougar Head Coach Tom Jager, Emma J had a great swim this morning and an even a greater swim in the final. I'm proud of them and look forward to building off that momentum."
Day three of Pac-12 Championships continues Friday with preliminary heats at 11 a.m. and final heats at 6 p.m.
