MOSCOW, Idaho - Washington State senior Cindy Robinson won a pair of races Friday night as Cougars captured eight wins at the 37th Annual Vandal Indoor meet at the University of Idaho Kibbie Dome in Moscow. WSU performers reached 11 personal record marks in the abbreviated meet schedule.
Robinson (Norwalk, Calif.) won the women's 60m dash in a time of 7.65 seconds, and then came back later in the evening and won the 200m dash in a lifetime-best time of 24.38 seconds. Also running PRs in the 200m were Bria'una Watley (25.01 - third), Christiana Ekelem (25.31 - fourth), and Holly DeHart (25.52 - fifth).
Shawna Fermin led a first-through-third WSU finish in the 400m dash with Fermin's time of 55.35 the team's season-best time.
On the men's side, Andre McBride's 7.00 after clocking in a prelim time of 6.95, equaling his PR. McBride, a freshman from San Leandro, Calif., returned to the track to win the 200m dash in a PR time of 21.68. Terrance Chambers finished third with a PR time of 22.08.
Josiah Sims ran his 60m hurdles PR time of 8.25 for the third time this season, edging out teammate Garrett Gerling (8.26).
Other winners for Cougar men were Richard Shroy in the mile in a time of 4:16.87, and Tay'lor Eubanks in the triple jump with a PR leap of 48-feet 10 3/4 inches (14.80m).
Former Cougar Joe Abbott, running unattached, won the men's 800m race with a time of 1:47.24, reported as the second-fastest time this year nationally as of this date.
The Cougars will have several competitors participating in the Vandal Collegiate beginning Saturday morning at the Kibbie Dome.
