Washington State University saw its regular season close during the third day of play at the Pac-12 Women's Tennis Championships Saturday at Libby Park.
The Cougar duo of Liudmila Vasilieva and Elizaveta Luzina, seeded No. 2, fell in its quarterfinal match against California's Taylor Davis and Laura Posylkin, 8-3. The loss concludes tournament play for the Cougars who will now wait for Tuesday's NCAA selection show to see which 64 teams reach the 2012 NCAA Tennis Championships.
The Cougars end the regular season with an 18-6 record and a No. 31 national ranking. The 18 wins are the most by a WSU team since going 19-5 wins during the 1993-94 season.
