Ojai, Calif. - Sophomore Olga Musilovich and freshman Charlotte Koning each captured morning victories to reach the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Invitational draw during second-day action at the Pac-12 Championships Friday at the Ojai Valley Athletic Club.

Musilovich opened Friday morning by posting a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Carling Seguso of UCLA, the tournament's No. 4 seed. In her quarterfinal match Musilovich dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision to No. 6 seed Valeria Pulido of USC.

In the other half of the draw Koning, seeded No. 7, received a walkover victory when Arizona State's Joanna Smith had to withdraw due to injury prior to the match. Koning then fell to USC's Gabi Desimone, 6-2, 6-3, in her quarterfinal match.

In consolation matches played Friday, Elisabeth Fournier defeated Sarah Pham from Utah, 8-2, while Ksenia Googe beat Julyette Steur of Colorado, 8-4. WSU's Andjela Kankaras defeated CArla Manzi from Colorado, 8-1.

In doubles action Liudmila Vasilieva and Elizaveta Luzina, seeded No. 2 in the Invitational draw, posted an 8-2 victory over Pascale Neubert and Rabea Stueckemann of Oregon. The Cougar duo will face California's Tayler Davis and Laura Posylkin in a quarterfinal match Saturday morning.

Fournier and Koning, seeded No. 3, fell in their opening-round match to UCLA's Holly Flemming and Morgan Thomas, 8-2.

In the doubles Championship draw, the top Cougar pair of Googe and Kankaras fell to the No.1-seeded duo of Mallory Burdette and Nicole Gibbs of Stanford, 8-1.

Third-day action at the Pac-12 Championships resumes Saturday morning in Ojai.
