Round Two Results Get Acrobat Reader

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The Washington State women's golf team posted the third-best score in Tuesday's second round of the Price's "Give `Em Five" Intercollegiate, finishing the day in fourth place. The women's team trails Kansas, the leading team, by nine strokes heading into Wednesday's final round.

Junior Mallory Kent led the way through the first two rounds for the WSU women. Kent finished the first two rounds at a combined score of even-par (144, tied for third). Both Kent and sophomore Lindsay Harmon carded scores of 73 (+1) in the second round. Harmon trailed Kent by three strokes after the first two rounds of play (147) and is tied for 11th place overall.

Sophomore Kristen Rue completed Tuesday's final round with a cumulative tournament score of 8-over. Rue is tied for 34th place. Senior Emma Betland and freshman Rachel Lewis had identical results in the first two rounds. Both competitors finished two rounds 9-over par (153), and shot 78 and 75 in the first and second rounds, respectively.

"We have played two solid rounds," Head Coach Kelli Kamimura said. "We look forward to the final round tomorrow. We are looking to make a move up the leaderboard and will leave everything on the course."

The Cougar women's team shot 8-over par collectively in both of the first two rounds, leaving it at 16-over with 18 holes to play.

The tournament's final round will begin with a shotgun start Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com and results will be posted online at wsucougars.com at the conclusion of the competition.
