SACRAMENTO, Calif.- The Washington State University women's tennis team battled No. 39 Sacramento State to end this afternoon in a 4-3 loss. The loss is the second straight for the Cougars to a ranked team.

Elisabeth Fournier continued her winning streak at the No. 1 spot by beating Maria Meliuk 6-1, 6-3. At No. 2 Liudmila Vasilieva defeated Clarisse Baca 6-1, 6-3. The third point for WSU came from Olga Musilovich at No. 5 with a come-from-behind victory over Katharina Knoebl 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.

Later in the day, the Cougars couldn't pull through in doubles competition and was swept in all matches.

WSU travels to No. 6 California tomorrow for a match at 1:30 p.m. to kick of Pacific-10 Conference play.
