VANCOUVER, Wash. - The Washington State University tennis team stopped a five-match skid with a sweep of the Portland State University Vikings, Friday.

WSU swept the doubles matches for the first time since February against non-conference opponent Seattle University. Liudmila Vasilieva and Elisabeth Fournier earned an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles against Caitlin Stocking and Anya Dalkin.

The freshmen doubles duo of Ksenia Googe and Andjela Kankaras posted an 8-4 win over Tara Vadali and Marti Pellicano.

Jackie Owens and Marina Nicolas completed the doubles sweep with a win against Kylea Gleason and Emily McClaran.

In singles play, sophomore Fournier competed at the No. 1 spot for the first time this season. The position change didn't affect her play, as Fournier earned her sixteenth win of the spring season against Dalkin, 6-2, 6-0.

Vasilieva posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory against PSU's stocking. The win was Vasilieva's twenty-first of the season, putting her two wins closer to the top ten of the single season victory list.

At the No. 3 and 5 spots, Googe and Nicolas both swept their opponents, not allowing a single point.

Freshman Owens earned her first dual match victory of the season, posting a 6-2, 6-0 win over PSU's Gleason.

The Cougars (9-10 overall, 1-3 Pac-10) return to the court Saturday, April 3 against the Oregon Ducks in Eugene.
