The Women's Golf Team Finished 17th at the Ping ASU Invitation

Tempe, Ariz. - The Washington State women's golf team finished 17th at the Ping ASU Invitational on Sunday. The team posted a 320 (+32) in the final day of the tournament at the par-72, 6,230 yard Karsten Golf Course. The Cougars ended with a tournament-total of 933 (+69) in a strong field with 16 teams ranked in the top-50 by golfstat.

Freshman Emma Betland finished in the lead for the Cougars for the third time in the spring season. In the final day Betland fired a 79 (+7) for a tournament-total of 230 (+14) landing her in 64th. The freshman has been a consistent leader for the Cougars in the second half of the season.

Fellow freshman Ali Thompson, who has also had a very successful freshman season, came in second for the team. Thompson posted an 80 (+8) in the third round for a tournament-total of 232 (+16), finishing in a tie for 72nd.

Sophomore Kristen Allard finished right behind her teammate with a three-round total of 233 (+17). In the final day Allard posted a 79 (+7) and finished in a tie for 75th. Junior Allison Travis carded a 90 (+18) for a tournament-total 246 (+30) and freshman Ellen Park posted an in day three 82 (+10) for a three-round total of 251 (+35).

This tournament concludes the regular season for the Cougars. The Pacific-10 Conference Championships will start on April, 19.
