LOS ANGELES-- The Washington State University tennis team fell to Pacific 10 conference opponent No. 21 University of Southern California Saturday, 7-0.

The Trojans took an early lead after winning the doubles point and sweeping all three matches.

In singles play, WSU faced four nationally-ranked opponents. At the No. 1 spot, No. 75 Liudmila Vasilieva took on No. 3 Maria Sanchez, but lost 6-2, 6-3. Elisabeth Fournier played No. 20 Alison Ramos in the No. 2 spot, losing 6-2, 6-4. Andjela Kankaras moved up to the No. 3 spot for the first time this season, but lost to No. 32 Danielle Lao, 6-0, 6-2. Marina Nicolas also took on a nationally-ranked player, but was defeated by No. 82 Valeria Pulido, 6-3, 6-1.

The Cougars (8-10, 1-3 Pac-10) look to rebound in their last regular season road trip when they face Portland State April 2nd and Oregon April 3rd.
