Los Angeles --- The UCLA Bruins proved why they're ranked fifth in the nation against the Washington State University tennis team in a 7-0 win, Friday.
The Bruins won all six singles matches, in addition to sweeping the doubles.
Freshman Jackie Owens saw her first Pacific 10 Conference action in the No. 6 spot against Maya Johannsson. UCLA's No.49 nationally-ranked Noelle Hickey handed sophomore Elisabeth Fournier her second loss of the season in a 6-3, 6-2 defeat.
WSU falls to 8-9 (1-2 Pac-10) on the season, their first time under .500 this year. The Cougars conclude their three-match road trip Saturday against Pac-10 opponent USC.
