SAMMAMISH, Wash. - The Washington State women's golf team is currently in 12th place after the first round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at the 6,127-yard, par-72 Sahalee Country Club.

Senior Amy Eneroth leads the cougar contingent with a 76 (+4) after today's round. She sits in a tie for 12th, four strokes out of the lead.

"Amy played a great front nine then struggled a bit on the back, but finished well and posted a solid number that has her in the top 20 after round one," WSU Head Coach Walt Williams said.

Fellow senior Jessica Black posted a 6-over par 78, and is currently in 20th.

The women finished with a first-round total of 324. The field still remains clustered with only nine strokes separating the Cougars from cross-border competitor and sixth place Idaho after the first round.

The tournament will continue tomorrow with second-round tee times beginning at 10 a.m.
