The Washington State soccer team (7-5-23 2-2-1 Pac-10) played Oregon (3-9-3, 0-3-1 Pac-10) to a 1-1 tie over 110 minutes of play at Pape' Field Friday in a Pacific-10 Conference game. Cougar leading scorer Alix Rustrum scored her seventh goal of the season four minutes into the match.
Rustrum gave WSU the 1-0 lead at the 3:06 mark after receiving a pass from freshman Anna Miller and slotting the ball past Oregon goalkeeper Domenique Lainez from seven-yards out.
The Ducks Kami Kapaku tied the match 1-1 two minutes before the end of the first half. She scored on WSU goalkeeper Katie Hultin from seven-yards out, taking advantage of a misplayed defensive clearance by the Cougars.
WSU entered halftime with a 4-3 shot advantage. Hultin recorded two of her seven saves in the first period.
UO outshot the Cougars 8-2 in the second half, while both squads recorded two shots in the two overtime periods.
The Cougars will continue conference action Sunday, taking on Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore. at noon.
