PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Nate Robinson scored 17 points, including five
3-pointers, to lead Washington past Washington State 75-62 Saturday.
Will Conroy added 14 points for the Huskies (7-8, 2-5 Pac-10), who won their
second straight game after their 0-5 start in Pacific-10 conference play.
Jeff Varem scored 14 points and Thomas Kelati had 13 for Washington State
(8-9, 2-5 Pac-10). Marcus Moore added 11.
The Cougars dropped below .500 for the first time this season after losing
their third straight game. They are trying to avoid their eighth consecutive
losing season.
Washington shot 67 percent from the field in the first half and led 37-23 at
the break. The Cougars trailed all the way after a 2-2 tie and never got closer
than six in the second half.
The Huskies shot 56 percent from the field, including 53 percent (9 for 17)
on 3-pointers. The Cougars shot 35 percent in the first half and 42 percent for
the game, despite 50 percent shooting (10-for-20) on 3-pointers.
Washington outrebounded Washington State 34-24. Brandon Roy tied his career
high of 12 rebounds for the Huskies.
The Cougars, playing only their fourth home game of the season, broke a
five-game home winning streak.
