- Chris Crosby scored 29 points as Washington State
jumped out to a 22-point halftime lead en route to an 83-55 victory over
Grambling State on Monday night.
The victory was the first for the Cougars (1-1) under coach Paul Graham, who
replaced Kevin Eastman at the end of last season.
The Tigers (0-2) briefly led in the opening minutes before Washington State
took over for good early in the first half.
Grambling State went on a 10-point scoring run midway through the second
half to close to within 57-43, but Washington State responded with a 14-point
run that put the game out of reach.
Crosby shot 12-for-17 for Washington State. David Adams added 12 points and
Blake Pengelly had 10 assists and nine points.
Chris Thomas led the Tigers with 18 points and Devin Ewing scored 16, making
all four of his 3-point attempts.
Washington State shot 65 percent in the first half and forced Grambling into
29 turnovers.
