Eddie Goddard excelled in football and baseball at Washington State, 1934-37. As a quarterback in football, he was All-West Coast in 1935 and 1936 and a three-time First Team All-American. He played in the East-West Shrine Game following his senior season in 1936. On the diamond, Goddard’s best season came in 1937 when he batted .430 as a senior. He played two seasons in professional baseball, the second with the Cincinnati Reds’ organization in 1939, and posted a career batting average of .334.
