Earl Foster was known as often called “The man who built Washington State’s athletic plant - best of its era.” He served as the graduate manager at WSC, 1925-46 and was instrumental in the construction of Bohler Gymnasium, Hollingbery Fieldhouse and the school’s golf course, and the expansion of the football stadium. Foster hired Cougar coaching legends Babe Hollingbery, Buck Bailey and Jack Friel. He introduced Dad’s Weekend to the Washington State calendar and helped pioneer sports broadcasting at KWSU. As an undergraduate, he letter two years in baseball.
