Dick Hanley

Dick Hanley was a quarterback on Washington State’s undefeated and untied team of 1915 that went on to defeat Brown 14-0 in the Rose Bowl that season. Following his Cougar career, he coached Pendleton (Ore.) High School for two years (1920-21) before moving into the collegiate ranks at Haskell Institute (1922-26). From 1927-34, Hanley was the head coach at Northwestern where he led the Wildcats to a share of the Big Ten Conference title in 1930-31 while posting a 14-2-1 record during the two championship seasons. He was the head coach or assistant coach in 11 East-West Shrine Games.
