Anastasia Kostina completed her three-year career at WSU in 2006. She was one the pillars for the Washington State women’s golf team during one of its most successful eras in program history, helping the Cougars earn three-straight NCAA West Regional appearances from 2004-06. Kostina, who came to the Palouse from Nakhabino, Russia, is one of the most decorated WSU women’s golfers in program history, being named a two-time NGCA All-American (’05, ’06) and earning three All-Pac-10 selections. In 2005, she became just the second WSU women’s golfer to earn a first-team All-Pac-10 selection. Kostina holds the WSU record for best three-round score at 205, which she posted at the 2004 Stanford Intercollegiate. In total, Kostina concluded her WSU Career ranked second in program history in career wins (3), top-five finishes (7) and top-10 finishes (25). In 2006, she posted the second-best finish by a Cougar at the Pac-10 Women’s Golf Championship, finishing tied for sixth. Kostina was also a member of the Russian National Team from 2000-13, was named ‘The Best Russian Golfer’ by Russian Golf Digest three times (2002, 04, 05) and played professionally following her time in Pullman, first on the LPGS Futures Tour before becoming a member of the Ladies European Tour.
