Biography

WASHINGTON STATE CAREER

Redshirt-senior (2019) – The best reserve goalkeeper in the country, saw action in four games playing 101:11 minutes… named one of the Cougs’ three captains prior to the start of the season… shared one shutout on the year in the Cougs’ 6-0 win over Montana (Aug. 30) in the home opener… allowed two goals in four games while making three saves… named to the inaugural Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll.

Redshirt-Junior (2018) – Called into action five games into the year, she started 14 games in goal for the Cougars, allowing only 16 goals and earning two shutouts...recorded an assist in her first career game assisting on Hailey Smith's goal in a 3-1 win over Idaho...recorded a career-high 12 saves twice, once in a 1-0 win at No. 8 UCLA, and again in a 1-1 draw against No. 1 Stanford, both times earning her Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week honors...named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District 8 team while also earning a Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention.

Junior (2017) - Did not see action in 2017.

PREVIOUS SCHOOL (HIGHLINE COLLEGE)

Played two years at Highline College where she established herself as one of the top junior college goalkeepers … set a program record with an 11-game shutout streak lasting 1,104 minutes as a sophomore … recorded 99 saves, a .910 save percentage, and a 0.50 goals against average in 1,813 minutes in 2016 …  two-time conference all-star … recorded 26 shutouts in two seasons.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB CAREER

A 2015 graduate of Nikiski High School … three-year team captain … two-time all-region selection as well as Region MVP in 2012 … three-sport athlete as she also was a four-time all-region selection in volleyball and a three-time all-region selection in basketball … two-time all-state selection in basketball ... was a 5-year club captain for Kenai Peninsula SC.

Rachel (Thompson) Johnson … married Luke Johnson in 2019 ... born in Nikiski, Alaska … daughter of Sharon and Bill ... both of her parents were collegiate athletes at Eastern Montana College ... has two siblings, Hannah, a collegiate volleyball player, and Matthew a collegiate hockey player ... graduated with a degree in human development.
