WSU Athletics Hosts Special Olympics Basketball Tournament

For the third consecutive year, Washington State University Athletics, in partnership with Special Olympics Washington and Swire Coca-Cola, served as host of the Special Olympics East Regional Basketball Tournament, Saturday.

WSU Student-Athlete Development Department and SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) spearheaded the university’s efforts in lending support to the event. Swire Coca-Cola served as a major sponsor for the event, donating shirts, games for Cougar Town, and snacks for volunteers.

More than 250 WSU student-athletes, staff and members of the Pullman community volunteered for the event.

The tournament was held at Bohler Gym, the Basketball Practice Facility inside the Physical Education Building and Smith Gym. 

And Butch was a big hit with the athletes.
