PULLMAN, Wash. (Feb. 4, 2026) – After setting a school and meet record last Saturday, Washington State sophomore Rosemary Longisa was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Longisa, a sophomore from Eldorat, Kenya, set multiple records Saturday during the UW Invitational/Mile City meet in Seattle, Wash. In the Women's Mile Invitational race, Longisa crossed in 4-minutes, 24.59 seconds, the third-fast time ever run by a collegian. It also shattered her previous school record by nearly 16 seconds, set last season, and broke the event record by three seconds. The time was the fastest in the nation this season until the following day when Oregon's Wilma Nielsen eclipsed Longisa's mark at the Milrose Games.
The honor is the first of Longisa's career.
