Eleonora Villa Named to WCC All-Academic Team

PULLMAN, Wash. (March 5, 2025) – Washington State women's basketball had five earn West Coast Conference All-Academic honors, as announced by the WCC Wednesday morning.

Eleonora Villa led the way, being named to the WCC All-Academic Team, while Alex Covill, Astera Tuhina, Jenna Villa and Tara Wallack all earned All-Academic Honorable Mention.

Eleonora Villa – Strategic Communication, 3.80 GPA
Washington State's scoring leader has also been one of the top scorers in the WCC, ranking eighth in total points (417), fifth in field goal percentage (.445), and ninth in scoring average (13.9). She is also 11th in both minutes played (990) and minutes per game (33.0).

Alex Covill – Human Development, 3.87 GPA
Covill ranks first in the WCC with 2.09 blocks per game, and despite being out since Jan. 27 with an injury, still ranks fourth in the WCC and 51st in the nation with 48 total blocks while shooting at a 60.7 percent clip from the field. Earlier this season, the sophomore also became the quickest in WSU history to reach 100 career blocks.

Astera Tuhina – Computer Science, 3.21 GPA
Washington State's court general effects winning on and off the box score. In the WCC she ranked third in assist/turnover ratio (2.0), sixth in total assists (113) and in assists per game (3.6), 12th in total steals (40), 13th in steals per game (1.3) and 15th in both made threes (40) and threes per game (1.3).

Jenna Villa – Kinesiology, 3.51 GPA
Villa has been an x-factor for WSU with 25 starts, and playing big minutes off the bench in the other six games played this season. She averaged 6.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 22.5 minutes per game with a 1.6 assist/turnover ratio while shooting 34.4 percent from deep.

Tara Wallack – Strategic Communication, 3.63 GPA
Wallack was second in the WCC this season in total blocks (58) and blocks per game (1.9), sixth in total rebounds (219), fourth in total minutes (1,035), eighth in rebounds per game (7.1), 11th in total points (409), and 12th in points per game (13.2). She has also totaled 79 assists and 34 steals while shooting 45.6 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from deep. With that, she is also averaging 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game with a 1.5 assist/turnover ratio.

The Cougs earned a triple-bye with the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Credit Union 1 WCC Basketball Championships. WSU will play Sunday, March 9 at 2 p.m. against the winner of the 6, 7, 10, or 11 seed.
