RENO, Nev. (March 29, 2025) – Washington State dropped a 9-1 Mountain West Conference matchup at Nevada Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars received two-hit games from
Luke Thiele,
Ryan Skjonsby and
Will Cresswell as Skjonsby hit a solo homer. Reno native
Jack Weise started in left field and doubled to right-centerfield.

Nevada broke a fourth-inning tie game with a three in the fourth, two in the fifth and two more in the sixth to clinch the series. The Wolfpack collected 11 hits while the Cougars tallied eight hits but left seven on base.

KEY MOMENTS OF THE GAME
Nevada led off the game with a solo homer on the first pitch they saw before Skjonsby evened things with a no-doubt solo blast to right field in the third inning. WSU left two runners on to end the first and second innings before Skjonsby hit his second home run of the season.

In the fourth, Nevada hit a two-run home run and added a two-out RBI-single later in the inning before hitting a two-run homer in the fifth and scored twice more after three walks and an error in the sixth. The Wolfpack capped the scoring with a solo homer to lead off the seventh.
