PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State lost to Santa Clara 109-79 Saturday evening at Beasley Coliseum.
Big Picture: The Cougars fall to 16-13 and 6-10 in conference play.
Inside the Stats: The Broncos set a West Coast Conference record and Santa Clara school record with 23 made 3-pointers. SCU shot 15-of-19 from beyond the arc in the first half and finished the game 60.5% from 3-point range (23-of-38).
Player Performances: Nate Calmese led the team in scoring with 20 points, his ninth 20-point performance, and dished out four assists.
Ethan Price scored 19 and
Dane Erikstrup added 15 points.
First-Half Flurry: Despite a 46-point second half, the Cougars couldn't overcome the barrage of 3-pointers that put Santa Clara up 61-33 at halftime. The Broncos 15 first-half threes broke the single-game high by a WSU opponent in a full game all season.
