PULLMAN, Wash. (November 3, 2025) – Washington State opened its season with a dynamic offensive performance, battling to the final possession in a fast-paced 87-85 loss to Idaho Monday at Beasley Coliseum.

The Cougars (0-1, 0-0 WCC) were led by Eleonora Villa's 24 points, while Keandra Koorits delivered a breakout 23-point effort off the bench, giving WSU a major scoring spark throughout the afternoon.

Washington State's depth shined bright as the bench poured in 44 points, helping the Cougs build a 49-41 halftime advantage behind efficient shooting and confident ball movement.

Marta Alsina added 12 points, and Charlotte Abraham posted 10 points and seven rebounds before foul trouble limited her late.

The Cougars shot 51 percent from the field, knocked down eight threes, and matched that offensive rhythm with energy on the defensive end, forcing turnovers and weathering multiple momentum swings down the stretch.

Notes

Keandra Koorits scored 23 points in her WSU debut, the most points by a freshman in the program since Charlisse Leger-Walker scored 23 at Utah (1/1/2021).
Eleonora Villa's 24 points matched her career-high and her 10 made field goals was a career-best.
Charlotte Abraham matched a career-high with seven rebounds.
Marta Alsina's 12 points, five made field goals, and two made threes were all career-best marks.
