Villa Named to WCC Preseason Team, Cougs Picked to Finish Third

PULLMAN, Wash. (Oct. 23, 2025) – Washington State women's basketball junior guard Eleonora Villa was named to the WCC All-Preseason Team Thursday morning, while the team was picked to finish third in the 2025-26 WCC Preseason Coaches Poll.
Villa was the team's top scorer in 2024-25, averaging 13.6 points per game while shooting .439 from the field and .332 from beyond the arc. Over 34 games and 32.9 minutes per game, she tallied 188 made field goals, 44 made threes, 103 rebounds, 87 assists, 30 steals and seven blocks.
After advancing to the WCC semifinals last year and earning a berth into the 2025 WNIT, the 2025-26 Cougars return six with Charlotte Abraham, Marta Alsina, Jean Chiu, Alex Covill and Keandra Koorits remaining in Pullman along with Villa. WSU brings in five newcomers, including transfers Mackenzie Chatfield from Western Kentucky and former Coug Lauren Glazier, and freshmen Malvina Haziri, Malia Ruud and Tahara Magassa.
