Cougs’ Overtime Comeback Falls Short to Pacific

PULLMAN, Wash. (Hayden Wysup)The Washington State men's basketball team's overtime comeback fell short against the Pacific Tigers, 95-94, Thursday night at Beasley Coliseum.
 
Big Picture: Washington State falls to 13-4 and suffers its first conference and first home loss of the season.
 
Player Performances: Ethan Price had another night scoring the ball. The senior scored a career high 28 points along with grabbing eight rebounds, his third game with 20+ points in the last four. LeJuan Watts scored 16 with eight rebounds. Nate Calmese added 14 with five assists. Dane Erikstrup scored 12 and Tomas Thrastarson had 11 to put all five starters in double figures for the second game in a row. 
 
Last-Second Finish: The Cougars, who trailed for the majority of the game, forced overtime with a LeJuan Watts putback dunk and took their largest lead of the game in the overtime period. With Pacific trailing by two with two seconds remaining in the extra frame, Lamar Washington made a corner three with no time remaining to clinch the win and a 40-point performance.
 
Up Next: WSU will travel north to face No. 18 Gonzaga, Saturday at 6 p.m. in the McCarthey Athletic Center and live on ESPN+.
