Cougars head to Idaho for Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open

MOSCOW, Idaho — WSU Track and Field head across the Washington-Idaho border to the University of Idaho for the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open. Events will be split between Friday and Saturday with some athletes competing on each day. Cougar athletes will look to add to their success last weekend with this weekend's meet in Idaho.

Last Time Out – Spokane Sports Showcase and UW Indoor Preview (Jan. 17, 2025)
Washington State Track and Field took home five first-place finished and another 11 podium finishes at the Spokane Sports Showcase. Tatum Moku set the program pole vault record and Micaela De Mello set a Brazilian national record in the 60m Hurdles to highlight the first weekend of WSU Track and Field in 2025. John Paredes finished second in the 60-meter hurdles which gave him fourth all-time in Cougar history and is currently fifth best in NCAA Division 1. Across the state, Evans Kurui set a time of 7:51.71 in the 3000m which was good for sixth in the field and places him fourth all-time at WSU in the event.
 

Up Next:
Cougar Track and Field will continue their season next weekend with three meets across the west coast. Part of the team will head to Seattle, Wash. for the UW Invitational Jan. 31-Feb. 1 while another part of the team will head to Albuquerque, NM. To wrap up the weekend some Cougar athletes will head back to Spokane to compete in the Inland Northwest Invitational, February 1.
