CORVALLIS, Oregon (May 10, 2025) -- Washington State Track & Field athletes captured 20 event wins, including one by freshman Kai Twaddle-Dunham who was named the Male Athlete of the Meet, as the Cougs dominated the Pac-12 Open Saturday at the Whyte Track and Field Center on the Oregon State University campus.

Twaddle-Dunham finished first in the men's shot put and second in the discus to cap off an extremely successful day in Corvallis. His discus throw of 51.31 meters was only two meters off teammate Maxwell Moore's winning throw of 53.69m. Twaddle-Dunham's shot put throw that won the event went 16.15 meters and was significantly further than anyone else in the event.

The women's 4x100 team of Zakiya Hill, Ashley Hollenbeck Willems, Brooke Lyons, and Zoe Ray started off the day in Corvallis with a prominent win. They finished with a time of 45.34 seconds, less than a second off their best-best time.

Grant Buckmiller, Bryson Stubblefield, Parker Duskin, and Mason Lawyer also captured an event win in the men's 4x100, running 39.59, only 0.09 behind their time at the Mt. Sac Relays, which is their season-best.

In the men's 110-meter hurdles, John Paredes recorded the 41st-fastest time in NCAA Division 1 this season, crossing the line in 13.69 seconds. This is a season best for Paredes and only two tenths off his personal best time. Parker Duskin finished second in the race with a time of 13.85 seconds.

Stubblefield finished first in the men's 100-meter race with a time of 10.24 seconds. This time ranks 34th-best in NCAA Division 1 this season. Since the wind was over 2.0 m/s, his time does not count toward any WSU records. Keenan Kuntz finished second in the race with a time of 10.44 seconds.

It was a podium sweep in the men's 200-meter, Saturday afternoon. Mason Lawyer finished first with a time of 20.48 seconds which ranks 14th in NCAA Division 1 this season. The wind aid of 2.7 seconds prevents this time from becoming the program record. Royal Haley and Keenan Kuntz finished second and third respectively, with times of 21.30 and 21.33 seconds.

Following the men's 200-meter race, Caroline Jepkorir won the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10-minutes, 39.15 seconds. Nicole Bissell finished second with a time of 10 minutes and 57.28 seconds.

Zenah Cheptoo and Josphat Meli won the 5000-meter races with times of 16:08.55 and 14:32.77, respectively. Alaina Stone Boggs finished second behind Cheptoo with a time of 16:36.58 seconds.

Tatum Moku impressed again in the women's pole vault, taking out the competition by clearing a height more than a foot over the second-place finisher. Her height of 4.44 meters is only 0.06 meters off her school record which she attempted to break but came up short. Chloe Metz finished third with a height of 4.01 meters.

In the men's high jump, A.J. McGloflin cleared a season-best height of 2.13 meters, which ranks 52nd in NCAA Division 1 this season. The second-place finisher, Antoni Smith, finished in second with a height of 2.10 meters, which narrowly breaks into the top 100 of NCAA Division 1.

Laura Lindquist set the 32nd-best javelin throw in NCAA Division 1 with her second place throw of 51.51 meters. This distance is a personal best for Lindquist, beating her previous mark by about a meter. She keeps her sixth-place spot in the record book, only 0.19 meters off the fifth best throw. Luceris Suarez Pacheco also broke into the NCAA Division 1 top 100 with her season best throw of 48.45 meters.
