PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State men's basketball team announced a pair of neutral-site, nonconference matchups for the 2024-25 season, facing the Big Ten's Iowa, Nov. 15, and the Mountain West's Boise State, Dec. 7.
The Cougars will travel to Moline, Illinois to face the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Quad Cities Hoops Showdown at Vibrant Arena, Friday, November 15, the Chicago-based agency Intersport announced Thursday. WSU and Iowa have met just once previously in program history, falling to the Hawkeyes 66-74, Dec. 30, 1963, in Portland, Oregon at the Far West Classic.
"The Cougs are looking forward to facing Iowa this year," WSU Head Coach
David Riley said. "The opportunity to face a quality opponent in a neutral site setting like Vibrant Arena is a great chance for our team to showcase our quality in a competitive environment. The matchup adds value to our schedule as we work to build towards a fourth-consecutive postseason."
WSU will visit Boise, Saturday, Dec. 7, to continue an ongoing series with the Boise State Broncos. The Cougars and Broncos meet at Idaho Central Arena for the second time in three seasons. Last season, BSU traveled to Spokane with WSU snagging a 66-61 victory at Spokane Arena, while the Broncos have won two of the last three meetings.
Washington State announced its 2024-25 WCC schedule earlier this week. The Cougars will host LMNU, Dec. 30 at Beasley Coliseum in the first conference home game of the season.
