COLFAX, Wash. – The Cougar cross country team will head 15 miles north to Colfax Golf Club for the 2024 Cross Country Division-I West Regional Championships, Friday, Nov. 15. The women's 6k race will begin at 11 a.m., and the men's 10k race will commence at noon. This is the first time since 2019 that Washington State has hosted the NCAA West Regionals.

Schools competing along WSU include Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, California, CBU, CSUN, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Hawaii, Idaho, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Oregon, Oregon State, Pacific, Pepperdine, Portland, Portland State, Sacramento State, San Diego, San Diego State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Seattle U, St. Mary's, Stanford, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, UNLV, USC, Utah Tech, and Washington.

Racing in the women's 6k for the Cougs will be Nicole Bissell, Zenah Cheptoo, Sabrina Colbert, Jessica Duran, Lauren Hoyt, Caroline Jepkorir, Neema Kimtai, Jaylyn Lehner, Kaleena Narus, Maya Nichols, Lindsay Siebert, and Alaina Stone Boggs.

Micaiah Aden, Brian Barsaiya, Evan Bruce, Leo Cook, Jacob Easton, Evans Kurui, Kelvin Limo, Ethan Martin, Leif Swanson, Eric Swedin, and Grayson Wilcott will compete in the men's 10k for the Cougars.

Last Time Out: 

·       Evans Kurui won the WCC Championships with a time 22:52.00, leading the entire 8k race.

·       Zenah Cheptoo finished third (20:06.3) in the women's 6k at the WCC Championships, helping the team finish third overall.

·       Leif Swanson and Brian Barsaiya finished 10^th and 11^th, respectively, with the men finishing third overall.

·       Caroline Jepkorir, Nicole Bissell, Jessica Duran, Sabrina Colbert, and Maya Nichols all finished with personal bests in the women's 6k race.
