FRESNO, Calif. (October 5, 2024) – Washington State Women's Swimming closed their season-opening weekend at the Fresno State Invite with three individual wins and a relay win Saturday morning in Fresno.
The Cougars closed the meet with wins in the 100 free, 200 fly, 1650 free and 400 free relay in the final session to finish fourth in the point total, just behind host Fresno State.
WSU opened the day with the 400 medley relay team of
Anna Rauchholz,
Emily Lundgren,
Dori Hathazi and
Darcy Revitt tying for second place. Junior
Emily Lundgren followed with a second-place finish in the 100 IM and the freshman Revitt picked up her second win of the opening weekend, winning the 100 free just ahead of senior teammate
Emma Wright who placed second. Revitt won the 50 free Friday.
Later in the day, Lundgren just missed her first win of the second, coming in .12 seconds behind the winner in the 200 breast for a second-place finish. Hathazi added a win in the 200 fly while senior
Samantha Krew finished fifth before freshman
Tatum Janning won the 1650 free with junior
Lauren Wille placing third and sophomore
Hannah Huarte fifth in the event.
The Cougars closed their day with a win in the 400 free relay by the team of Revitt, senior
Angela Di Palo, Hathazi and Wright, over a full second ahead of second-place UCLA.
WSU hosts Northern Colorado Friday at 5 p.m.
