Revitt’s 50 Free Win Paces Cougars on Day 1 at Fresno State Invite

FRESNO, Calif. (October 4, 2024) – Washington State Women's Swimming opened the season at the Fresno State Invite Friday.

The Cougars received a win from freshman Darcy Revitt in the 50 free, her first collegiate win in her first collegiate individual race. WSU finished the opening day with 389 points, just behind hosts Fresno State for third place.

In the day's morning session, junior Dori Hathazi and senior Samantha Krew finished fourth and fifth, respectively in the 500 free before sophomore Ariel Wang placed third in the 200 IM and junior Emily Lundgren finished seventh. In the day's fourth event, Revitt made her individual debut in impressive fashion, winning the 50 free in 22.98, the eighth-fastest 50 free time in WSU history, while senior Emma Wright finished eighth to tally 11 points for WSU. The 200 free relay team of Revitt, Wright, Angela Di Palo and Skylar Brgoch beat San Diego State for second with Revitt posting a 22.94 in opening 50 for the seventh-best 50 free time in program history.

Hathazi opened the evening session placing third in the 100 fly and later placed second in the 200 free while Krew followed close behind in fourth with Revitt touching seventh. The 800 free relay team of Hathazi, Di Palo, Krew and Wang placed third to close out the opening day.

The invite wraps up Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
