Seventh-ranked Cougars sweep Oregon State, extend winning streak

No. 7 Washington State extended its winning streak to 12-straight with 3-0 win in Corvallis.
CORVALLIS, Ore. — Seventh-ranked Washington State volleyball (13-1, 3-0 Pac-12) forced Oregon State (5-8, 0-3 Pac-12) into 21 attack errors, finishing with 10 blocks as a team in a 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-17) win on the road Thursday night in Gill Coliseum. Playing in front of family back in her home state of Oregon, Jasmine Martin finished with a season-high six kills while hitting .308 (6-2-13), as well as a season-high five blocks with one solo block.
Magda Jehlárová finished with a team-high 10 kills with four blocks while hitting at a .643 as she paced the Cougs' attack from her middle position. Iman Isanovic (8-3-27, .185) and Katy Ryan (8-3-15, .333) each finished with eight kills, and Argentina Ung tallied her second double-double of the season as she dished out another 29 assists to go along with 10 digs, two blocks and three kills.
Karly Basham finished with a team-leading 14 digs on the night and was one assist shy of her season high with five set assists on the night.
Washington State never trailed by more than two points in the match, leading wire-to-wire in the second set and winning 36-of-52 (.692) sideout points through three sets. Ung served WSU through a 7-0 run that put the Cougars ahead, 14-7 in the first set. WSU later won five of the final six points down the stretch to take a one-set lead.
WSU overpowered the Beavers in set two, tallying 20 kills as a team behind a team-leading five from Katy Ryan. Weronika Wojdyla came off of the bench with two kills on her only two swings of the match, while Martin added her three kills in the second to help Washington State close in on the sweep.
The Cougars later held OSU to negative hitting in the third set and again closed strong, winning the final four points of the match with Ung serving out the final points.

Washington State will conclude its Oregon road trip on Sunday as it heads to Eugene to take on the sixth-ranked Oregon Ducks beginning at noon on Pac-12 Insider from Matthew Knight Arena. WSU will return home next weekend as they get set to host a pair of network matches starting with California on Fri., Oct. 6, at 7 p.m., on Pac-12 Washington, before hosting Stanford on Sun., Oct. 8, beginning at noon on Pac-12 Network.
