PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State soccer senior
Margie Detrizio was selected to the Preseason All-Pac-12 Team, the Conference announced Tuesday.
Detrizio returns to the frontline as a reigning Pac-12 All-Conference selection last fall. The Arizona native led the Cougars in total points last season with 28 and also led the team with 11 goals (t-third in Pac-12). Detrizio topped the Conference in shots (86) and shots on target (41).
Washington State was the only program outside the state of California to earn preseason team recognition. The Pac-12 coaches selected WSU to finish fifth in the preseason poll, Monday.
Washington State begins its 2023 campaign Thursday, Aug. 17 against Eastern Washington. The Cougars will host the Eagles at Lower Soccer Field with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The match will be a "WAZZU White Out" with free t-shirts to select early fans.
