PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State women's basketball team is inviting all Coug fans to join them for an NCAA Tournament Selection Sunday watch party at Gesa Field this Sunday, March 12. The event will run from 4-6 p.m. PT at the Alger Family Club Room located on the second floor premium seating level at Gesa Field and will be free to the public.
Fans are encouraged to come out early and celebrate the Cougars' historic run to Washington State's first Pac-12 championship in a female sport. Doors open at 4 p.m. PT and fans will be treated to refreshments and a celebratory program to honor of WSU's magical run in Las Vegas starting at 4:30 p.m. PT. The NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Selection Show will begin at 5 p.m. PT on ESPN. There will be a large screen on display at the Alger Family Club Room to show ESPN's Selection Show so that both the team and fans will find out where the Cougars' March Madness trip will take them.
The Washington State women's basketball team became the first female sport at WSU to win a Pac-12 title, as the No. 7-seeded Cougars knocked off No. 5-seed UCLA to win the 2023 Pac-12 Women's Basketball Championship. As a No. 7 seed, Washington State becomes the lowest seed ever to win the Pac-12 Tournament. Junior Charlisse Leger-Walker scored a Pac-12 Tournament record 76 points to earn the tournament's Most Outstanding Player honors, while senior Bella Murekatete picked up an All-Pac-12 Tournament selection.
