Transfer Keeley Copper Set to Join Cougar Soccer

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State soccer head coach Todd Shulenberger announced the addition of senior transfer Keeley Copper to the program, Thursday. Copper, a senior defender from West End, N.C., will enroll on the Pullman campus following the completion of her degree this spring at Davidson College.
Copper completed her 2022 senior season starting in the Davidson backline for all 20 games. She earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team honors and played a career-high 1,730 minutes. The Wildcats' backline boasted the second-best goals-against average in the country (.421) and the third-best shutout percentage nationally (.684).
The standout defender originally arrived at Davidson in the fall of 2019 and entered a starting role in the backline as a freshman, appeared in 16 games and started 15 of them. Cooper registered her lone collegiate goal against Duquesne in September and completed the season with over 1,400 minutes played.
She continued her defensive form in spring 2021, following the pandemic delay, starting all 14 matches and helping the backline to an improved 0.71 goals against average. Copper did not play during the 2021 season due to injury.
The Pinecrest High School graduate was named the High School SEC Conference Player of the Year during her junior season, as well as earning all-region and all-conference honors. Copper majors in biology at Davidson and will pursue post baccalaureate work at WSU.
